Cefixime 200mg+ Clavulanic acid 125mg

Cefixime 200mg + Clavulanic Acid 125mg tablets are used to treat various bacterial infections. Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria, while clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps prevent bacteria from becoming resistant to cefixime. This combination is effective against respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and ear infections. It is particularly useful in treating infections that are difficult to manage with a single antibiotic due to resistance issues.

Side Effects:-

Common side effects of Cefixime 200mg + Clavulanic Acid 125mg tablets include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. Some patients may experience dizziness, skin rash, or itching. In rare cases, severe side effects can occur, such as severe allergic reactions (swelling, severe rash, difficulty breathing), severe diarrhea (indicative of a Clostridium difficile infection), and liver dysfunction. If you experience any severe or unusual symptoms, seek medical attention promptly. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting this medication, especially if you have a history of liver disease, kidney disease, or any allergies.

This combination tablet is indicated for the treatment of mixed bacterial infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia, otitis media (middle ear infections), sinusitis, tonsillitis, and urinary tract infections. The addition of clavulanic acid enhances the efficacy of cefixime by inhibiting bacterial enzymes that would otherwise degrade the antibiotic.
