Uses:-
Silodosin 8 mg capsules are prescribed for the treatment of symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate. Silodosin belongs to a class of medications called alpha-1 blockers, which work by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. It helps improve urinary flow rate, reduce symptoms such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, urgency, and incomplete emptying of the bladder, commonly experienced with BPH.
Side Effects:-
Common side effects of silodosin may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and nasal congestion. Some individuals may also experience orthostatic hypotension, a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up from a sitting or lying position, which can cause dizziness or fainting. Other possible side effects include retrograde ejaculation (semen entering the bladder instead of exiting the penis during ejaculation), which may result in decreased fertility but is not harmful. Rarely, allergic reactions or priapism (prolonged erection) may occur, which require immediate medical attention.
Indication:-
Silodosin 8 mg capsules are indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men. These symptoms include difficulty urinating (weak stream, hesitancy), frequent urination (especially at night), urgency, and incomplete emptying of the bladder. Silodosin helps relax the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing bothersome urinary symptoms associated with BPH.
