Moxifloxacin

Uses:-

Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic medication used to treat various bacterial infections. Here are its main uses:

  • Respiratory Infections: Moxifloxacin is used to treat respiratory tract infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible bacteria.
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: It is effective against skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, abscesses, and wound infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
  • Intra-Abdominal Infections: Moxifloxacin may be prescribed for the treatment of intra-abdominal infections such as peritonitis and intra-abdominal abscesses.
  • Urinary Tract Infections: It is used to treat complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis (kidney infection) and complicated lower urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
