Some individuals may experience orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up), which can cause dizziness or fainting. Other possible side effects include gastrointestinal upset, back pain, and allergic reactions such as rash or itching. Serious side effects such as priapism (prolonged erection) or severe hypotension are rare but require immediate medical attention.
Indication:-
Tamsulosin 0.4 mg modified release tablets are indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men. BPH causes the prostate gland to enlarge, leading to urinary problems. Tamsulosin helps relieve urinary symptoms associated with BPH by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, allowing for easier urination. These tablets are usually taken once daily, preferably 30 minutes after the same meal each day, to help maintain consistent drug levels in the body. It’s important to swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing. Tamsulosin may take several weeks to show its full effect. Regular follow-ups with a healthcare provider are necessary to monitor progress and adjust the treatment if needed.
